Our stories are important to us. A good story can make us laugh, make us feel and can sometimes make us see the world and ourselves a little differently. At Bungalow Films we tell these stories through 2d animation, an art form that uses light, line, colour, words, voice and music to create something singular and magical. Each of our collaborators lives and breathes their art form and we delight in bringing them together to create stories that matter.

We work across a range of forms, from international co-productions to local shorts. Our aim is always to bring talent, heart and humour to each project, and tell each story in its best form. From full projects to crafted services, our talented team can help with script, storyboard, design, animation, music, voice, compositing and sound.

Matthew Darragh - Creative Director

Matthew is a New Zealand born writer, director and animator with 25 years industry experience in Europe and New Zealand. Matthew has worked on series produced by Disney, Chorion, HIT, Brown Bag Films and Pukeko Pictures, including directing New Zealand's first animated co-production with China. He has received numerous awards for his animated films including Best Animation at the Rome International Film Festival, and was awarded the Brad McGann Award for Feature Writing.
